April IPSOS poll - some quick observations
SNP support has ticked up slightly among women, and is flat among men.
SNP support has jumped up a significant amount among the 25-34 age cohort: from 68% to 76%, but is flat among 16-24s. It has increased even more dramatically among 35-44s, from 46% to 60%. Among 45-54s there is some slippage, down from 55% to 49%. Among 55-64s there’s more slippage, from 53% to 44%. Among 65+ voters, a slight increase from 37% to 39%.
The SNP has stood pretty much static with ABC1 voters (51%) but has gained slightly with C2DE voters (57%).
Labour’s strongest age bracket is 45-54 (26%) while the Tories’ is 65+ (31%), and the Lib Dems’ strongest are 55-64 (10%).
Undecideds still sitting at just 7%.
Support for independence has returned to its highest level among 16-34 year old voters, up from 63-26 in February to 70-24 now. With the 35-54 cohort, Yes is slightly down from 50-42 to 49-45. Among 55+ voters, Yes is down from 37-58 to 34-59.
There has been practically no movement from either ABC1s or C2DEs on the question of independence, 45-48 and 57-40 respectively.
The Alba Party scores 4% with men and just 1% with women, and shows little variation across age groups except for an unusual (and probably anomalous) spike in support from 25-34 year olds.
